Did you know?
1) Paying attention to where the house is located on the property can reduce your energy costs by 10 to 40 percent.
2) A tight, well-insulated building envelope with high-performance glazing and shading strategies may enable you to downsize or eliminate conventional heating and cooling equipment.
3) Open concept designs help distribute daylight, reduce ducting requirements for conditioned air distribution, simplify reconfiguration of space and reduce material use.
3) Recycled composite decking will outlast wood by two or three times, never requires paint or finishes, will not burn or splinter bare feet in the summer.
4) Appliances account for about 20% of household energy usage.
Debrah’s involvement in the housing market and sustainable building practices stem from her family's involvement in the construction and design of residential and commercial properties. After graduating with degrees in interior design and business management she earned her Certified Canadian Staging Professional (CCSP) designation and was the first Certified Dewey Color Instructor (DCI) serving Ottawa, the National Capital Region and the Outaouais.
Boucher grew up in a family were ‘waste not, want not’ was the family mantra. She practices this ideology as she reclaims and refinishes cast-off furniture, kitchen cabinetry, lighting fixtures and accessories for many of her home staging and interior decorating projects. To her, its a badge of honor to know this simple gesture saves our natural resources and energy.
Today, as we move toward sustainable building practices, each decision we make regarding energy use, building materials and water consumption will have a long-lasting impact.
Boucher is very pleased to be a Certified Trainer for the Live Green, Live Smart, Partners in Green Education Worldwide and the Certified Staging Professionals. To her, “Green” is about saving our natural resources, reducing waste, and building sustainable homes.
For Real Estate Professionals a Real Estate Certification Program is offered. Construction companies, home builders, home inspectors, designers, property managers, stagers and homeowners can choose the Green Build Science Certification Program.

Christine’s experience and expertise in home staging is highly respected. In 2001, after twenty years in executive business management and sales, Christine decided the time was right to pursue her passion for interior decorating. Training with pre-eminent interior designer, Lauri Ward, who has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, and Inside Edition, she went on to train with Barb Schwarz of Stagedhomes.com and held the position of Regional Director for that company for three years in Canada, North East United States and the UK. During her career she expanded and honed her skills by studying with JoAnne Lenart-Weary, the ‘One-day Decorating Queen’ and Co-Founder of the Society of Decorating Professionals, and with Ann Maurice,“TV House Doctor” and original staging guru, author of six books and host of four TV programs which millions of viewers watch worldwide.
The CSP™ program was developed and released in September 2005, in response to demand for a staging training program with ”meat”. Having personally taught more than 1400 people how to start a staging business, Christine has quickly become known as an expert in the field and is one of the most certified trainers in North America. Within the first year of its existence, CSP certified 450 staging consultants across Canada and in August 2006 CSP™ launched its program in the U.S. Christine has co-authored an e-book titled Home Staging Business Guide and is currently working on another book to be published in 2007, which will be in a unique, thought provoking format to provide the public with staging information.
Recently, Christine studied with Dewey Sadka, pre-eminent colour expert. Christine is the only Dewey Colour Consultant and Instructor in Canada and sits on the Dewey Colour System advisory council. Dewey created a multi-patented system that is now the world's first scientifically valid, color-based personality test. He has been featured on HGTV.COM, Discovery Channel, CNN, and written about in over 40 national magazines.
